EV Experience 2025: A Weekend of Electric Enthusiasm, Connection, and Discovery

Last week’s EV Experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Representing Vereniging Elektrische Rijders (the Dutch Electric Drivers Association) over two inspiring days, I left the event energized, both literally and figuratively, by the passion and curiosity of everyone involved.

A Hub for Electric Mobility Conversations

The atmosphere at EV Experience was electric in every sense of the word. Alongside my colleagues from Vereniging Elektrische Rijders, we engaged in vibrant conversations with attendees at every stage of their EV journey. The diversity of questions and the genuine curiosity of everyone present were truly inspiring.

First-time buyers approached us with a familiar mix of excitement and hesitation. Their questions were thoughtful and practical: “Is now the right time to buy?” “Which model best fits my lifestyle?” “How do EVs perform in winter?”

Seasoned EV enthusiasts dove into technical discussions about the evolution of charging infrastructure, advancements in battery technology, and strategies for managing range anxiety, a concern that, as many shared, often fades after just a few months of EV ownership.

Cost-conscious consumers sought hard numbers: total cost of ownership, maintenance needs (or lack thereof), insurance implications, and long-term value retention.

Growing Ecosystem, Growing Impact

One of the event’s highlights was connecting with partners who are shaping the electric mobility ecosystem. Organizations like Energie Intern and AVILOO Battery Diagnostics Nederland are doing fantastic work, from energy management solutions to battery health diagnostics. It’s inspiring to see the infrastructure and services around EVs mature and expand.

The Future on Display

The manufacturer’s presence was impressive. Brands leading the electric transition, BYD, XPENG, Leapmotor, Volvo, Lucid, Tesla, and many others, showcased their latest models. The chance for attendees to test-drive these vehicles on the circuit added an invaluable hands-on dimension that no brochure or website can replicate.

Why Events Like This Matter

The enthusiasm and curiosity of attendees reinforced a key truth: events like EV Experience offer irreplaceable value. They create space for open dialogue, myth-busting, and real-world insights that simply can’t be gleaned from online articles. Standing next to an actual vehicle, speaking with real owners, and getting behind the wheel transforms abstract curiosity into tangible possibility.

Looking Forward

We’re already planning for next year’s EV Experience in Zandvoort (September 24-26, 2026) and other events throughout the year. If you’d like to connect with us or learn more about electric mobility, check out the Vereniging Elektrische Rijders agenda for upcoming opportunities.

A Question for You

Whether you attended EV Experience or are considering the switch to electric: What’s the one question about EVs you wish more people were asking? Often, the most important questions aren’t about range or charging times, but about how EVs fit into our lives, our communities, and our collective future. I’d love to hear your thoughts.
